The team assigned the players to the Idaho Stampede, it's NBA Development League affiliate, so they can play in games tonight and Saturday. General manager Neil Olshey said the two will be back in Portland for practice on Sunday.
Both will miss Saturday's home game against the Sacramento Kings.
"It's an opportunity for them to get two games under their belt," Blazers coach Terry Stotts said after the team's practice Friday. "They'll play 35, 40 minutes in two nights. It's good for them, and we need to take advantage of the Stampede."
Barton,? the 40th overall pick out of Memphis in the 2012 NBA Draft, has played in 16 games this season for the Blazers, and has averages of 2.6 points, 1.4 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 8.8 minutes per game. His best game was Nov. 26 at Detroit, when he had 12 points in 21 minutes.?
Claver has appeared in four games with Portland this season, and averages 0.3 points, 1.0 rebounds, 0.3 assists and 5.8 minutes per contest. He hasn't played since Nov. 21 at Phoenix, when he injured his right elbow.
?Idaho is 0-4 on the season and is coming off a 97-82 loss to Austin. The games tonight and Saturday will also be against the Toros, who feature San Antonio guard Nando De Colo.
