New research suggests corporate business travel buying will grow and ?become increasingly strategic? in 2013.
Travelscene Corporate released findings from their latest national survey, with 50 percent of respondents stating their business travel will increase compared with 2012.
Only 19 percent of respondents predicted a decrease in corporate travel.
?Sentiment is high and this is a promising start for 2013 for the corporate travel industry and TMCs,? Travelscene Corporate general manager David Padman said.
?We?re expecting business travel buying to become increasingly strategic this year, with a stronger focus on mobility, procurement and increased use of technologies.?
In a separate survey, 46 percent of respondents said they had no corporate travel policies in place, while 30 percent said they made reviews once every two years and 23 percent reviewing business travel 1-2+ times per year.
?It is important that businesses take into account the new options available, and review their corporate travel policies to ensure work is balanced across the board,? Mr Padman said.
Travelscene Corporate is also encouraging business travellers to explore all avenues that may add value.
?Being ?connected? 24/7 is now mandatory, and is an example of technological advances that are shifting the business landscape for travellers,? Mr Padman said.?
